AT&T: Samsung Galaxy Appeal

AT&T has announced, beginning June 5, GoPhone customers will be able to purchase the Android-based Samsung Galaxy Appeal through Walmart.  Beginning July 15, other outlets will also offer this phone.

Per AT&Ts news release, the Samsung Galaxy Appeal is the first smartphone offered with the GoPhone service that features a sliding QWERTY keyboard, making this a good phone for messaging/email.  The Appeal's OS is Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and includes a 3 mega-pixel rear-facing camera with a 3X zoom.

Data plans for GoPhone customers are affordable:  1GB $25/month, 200MB $15/month, 50MB $5/month.

Voyager Mobile is available!

Engadget is reporting that after some delays, Voyager Mobile a low cost cell phone provider, has been released.   CNET reports:  "For a rock-bottom $19 per month, Voyager will serve up unlimited texts and voice calling. A more compelling plan includes unlimited data, talk, and text but costs a higher $39 per month."

Updates

AT&T is offering a $25/month unlimited messaging for their GoPhone plan. Check out this link for more information.

CNET is reporting that Sprint will be releasing push-to-talk CDMA phones this Fall, 2011.

Reuters posted information on the upcoming Apple press conference October 4th. It is rumored the Iphone 5 will be unveiled. Will you upgrade?

Sidekick Returns!


T-Mobile announces a new Sidekick 4G (built by Samsung) to be released late Spring, 2011.

The Sidekick will feature Google's Android operating system (version 2.2), a 1 GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor, a 3.5-inch touch-screen display and built-in Facebook and Twitter applications.

HTC Arrive on Sprint

From Engadget, the new HTC Arrive has arrived. This is the first Windows Phone 7 on the Sprint network. AT&T, T-Mobile and now Sprint carry devices running Windows Phone 7. Verizon Wireless does not have a Windows phone yet, but is expected to have one out this spring.
