Top 5 things I like about my new iPhone 5

1)     Lightweight and noticeably thinner

2)     Camera quality is much better (especially videos)

3)     Nice screen size -- extra row of widgets

4)     Passbook (will be even better when more retailers added)

5)     iOS6  (especially when I update apps not having to re-enter password)

New AT&T Prepaid Smartphone Rate Plan

AT&T is coming out with a new GoPhone prepaid smartphone rate plan.  The new rate plan will begin on October 7th.  The plan offers unlimited talk and text and 1 GB of data for $65.  They say it's designed for smartphone users and saves them $10 from the previous options.  Check out the information here at AT&T.

Kyocera Rise Coming Soon!

Check out the Kyocera Rise which is coming soon.  This CDMA qwerty keyboard phone is rumored to be released later this month on Sprint and Virgin Mobile.  It'll have a 1500 mAh Li-lon battery and will run the Android(tm) 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) using a 1GHz (QUALCOMM Snapdragon processor).  It has a 3.5" capacitive touchscreen and a 3.2 MP camera and video camcorder.

AT&T switching to shared wireless data plans.

AT&T is following Verizon's move to shared wireless data plans.  AT&T will let customers keep their old plans for now.  No word if that will change in the future.  Take a look here at AT&T and see if you will switch.

AT&T: Samsung Galaxy Appeal

AT&T has announced, beginning June 5, GoPhone customers will be able to purchase the Android-based Samsung Galaxy Appeal through Walmart.  Beginning July 15, other outlets will also offer this phone.

Per AT&Ts news release, the Samsung Galaxy Appeal is the first smartphone offered with the GoPhone service that features a sliding QWERTY keyboard, making this a good phone for messaging/email.  The Appeal's OS is Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and includes a 3 mega-pixel rear-facing camera with a 3X zoom.

Data plans for GoPhone customers are affordable:  1GB $25/month, 200MB $15/month, 50MB $5/month.

Voyager Mobile is available!

Engadget is reporting that after some delays, Voyager Mobile a low cost cell phone provider, has been released.   CNET reports:  "For a rock-bottom $19 per month, Voyager will serve up unlimited texts and voice calling. A more compelling plan includes unlimited data, talk, and text but costs a higher $39 per month."
