Is Mint Mobile worth it?

In the mail I received a flyer for Mint Mobile.  Since I have some time on my hands I decided I will check it out.  Everything is done online with Mint Mobile.  New customers can either bring their own GSM compatible phone or purchase one from the Mint Mobile website.  Mint Mobile uses T-Mobiles network.  The company started in 2016 as Mint SIM and then rebranded as Mint Mobile.
 
There are 3 plans to choose from.  A $15 per month with 3 GB of 4G LTE data, a $20 per month with 8 GB of 4G LTE data, and a $25 per month with 12 GB of 4G LTE data.  There are 6 month and 12 month plans but their web site did not let me scroll down to actually see those plans.
 
They offer the latest Apple iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro Max.  They also offer phone like the Samsung Galaxy S10e, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, Google Pixel 4, LG G8 ThinQ and many more.
The 4G LTE high speed data is unlimited but if you go over your amount you can purchase and add additional data.  They offer free mobile hotspot and Wi-Fi talk and text.
Customers use a Credit or Debit card and either pay online or with their APP.  If this is something you might be interested in you may want to check them out.  

A side note which is very cool in this uncertain time.  If you want free unlimited high-speed data add-ons,  they are offering it free now through April 14th.

From HTC the U11 is available!

HTC has released the U11.  This smartphone has a 5.5" Quad HD Super LCD 5 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 display.  The U11 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, 64 bit Octa Core, up to 2.45 GHz processor with Android 7.1 with HTC Sense OS.  What this means is the U11 can open applications by a squeeze of the phone or take a picture with gestures like a smile.  Amazon HTC ALEXA is supposed to learn from daily use and help you with seamless assistance for everything this smartphone does.  The rear-facing camera is 12MP with Ultraspeed Autofocus, f/1.7 aperture, dual LED flash, 10 second self timer, and face detection.  The rear-facing camera can shoot video in 4K.  The front-facing camera is 16MP for taking great selfies.  This camera can record video in full HD 1080p.  The 3000 mAh battery may need to be charged during the day with heavy use but there is an Extreme Power Saving mode and Quick Charge 3.0.  The HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition should make for great sound.  For more specs on the HTC U11 please check out my Amazon Affiliate page.

The LG V30 is available!

The LG V30 was recently released and is available with all service providers.  This seems to be a powerhouse for creating photo and video content from a smartphone.  The LG V30 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.9 GHz x 4 Octa Core processor with Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS.  All day use should be achievable with the Non-Removable 3,300 mAh battery.  This smartphone has Premium Anodized Metal Sides and is IP68 Dust and Water Resistant along with being Shock Resistant with MIL-STD-810G testing.  Those features along with the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection on the front and back with Gorilla Glass 4 on the camera makes this a take everywhere and in all conditions device.
The V30 has a 6.0" QHD + OLED display.  The large display is great for viewing photos using the 16MP rear-facing camera or 5MP front-facing camera.  The rear-facing camera has dual lenses.  A 16MP Standard-Angle lens f/1.6 and a 13MP Wide-Angle lens f/1.9.  There is also 4K video recording at 30 FPS.  There are options for shooting slow motion or time lapse video and other manual video settings.  LG is really trying to offer a media smartphone for on the go with this LG V30.  Please check out other LG devices on my Amazon Affiliate page.

Moto Z from Motorola

The Moto Z is now available.  This unlocked GSM version is for AT&T, T-Mobile and other carriers using GSM networks.  This smartphone has a 5.5" AMOLED Quad HD Corning Gorilla Glass display.  The Moto Z uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 1.8 GHz Quad-core CPU and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS.  With the Moto Mod accessories of attachable speakers, projector, or camera the battery is only 2600 mAh.  A user may have to charge this device during the day with heavy use.  The rear-facing camera is 13MP and has Optical Image Stabilization, laser Autofocus and many extra features.  This shoots 1080p HD video at (60 fps) and 4K video at (30 fps).  The front-facing camera is 5MP with a wide-angle lens.  The Moto Z is thin and is made from military aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel.  There is a water-repellent coating so a few rain drops will not hurt it.  There is a Moto Z version from Verizon as well as the unlocked GSM version.  Check out Motorola for more specifications.  For more Motorola smartphones please visit my Amazon Affiliate page.

Pixel by Google at Verizon

Pixel is a smartphone made by Google.  There are two sizes.  The 5.0" FHD AMOLED Pixel has a 2770 mAh battery and the 5.5" QHD AMOLED Pixel XL has a 3450 mAh battery.  They are both powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 2.15Ghz and 1.6Ghz, 64 bit Quad-Core processor and Android 7.1 Nougat OS.  There is a 12.3MP rear-facing camera and an 8MP front-facing camera.  This smartphone can shoot 1080p video at 30fps, 60fps, or 120fps.  The Pixel is designed in Aerospace-grade aluminum unibody glass shade with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4.  The Pixel Imprint is mounted on the back for quick unlocking.  Check out Google for more specs.  For more smartphones from Verizon please go to my Amazon Affiliate page.

LG V20 coming soon

The LG V20 will be available soon with most wireless service providers.  The V20 has a 5.7" Quad HD IPS display.  This multimedia smartphone runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 with X12 LTE 2.15Ghz Quad-Core processor and Android 7.0 Nougat OS.  Depending on usage the 3200 mAh removable battery should be okay for a full day of use.  There are two rear-facing cameras.  One is a 16MP standard-angle lens of 75 degrees and the second is an 8MP wide-angle lens of 135 degrees.  Users can zoom in or zoom out continuously between standard and wide angle lenses.  The front-facing camera is a 5MP wide-angle lens of 120 degrees.  The HD video recording has a video manual mode for adjusting audio focus, white valance and more.  The LG V20 is a great multimedia smartphone with a lot of great features.  Go to LG for more specs.  Please go to my Amazon Affiliate page for more LG smartphones.

T-Mobile ONE and T-Mobile ONE Plus

Last week T-Mobile announced T-Mobile ONE.  This week T-Mobile is changing the T-Mobile ONE and adding T-Mobile ONE Plus.  Starting September 1st customers on T-Mobile ONE will get unlimited talk, unlimited text, and unlimited 4G LTE smartphone data.  Customers on the T-Mobile ONE can purchase HD Day Passes for $3 per day.  That means customers can stream all the HD video for 24 hours.  For an additional $25 a month, per line, customers can get T-Mobile ONE Plus.  ONE Plus customers get the unlimited talk, unlimited text, and unlimited 4G LTE data plus unlimited high-speed 4G LTE mobile hotspot data.  This allows customers to connect another device or tablet to their mobile hotspot.  The ONE Plus plan also gives customers unlimited HD Day Passes.  Toggle to the 24 option to stream HD video.  Customers can also get 3G speed whenever possible when traveling abroad.  Head to T-Mobile for all the pricing options.  To purchase T-Mobile smartphones please go to my Amazon Affiliate page.

Sprint Offers Unlimited Freedom Premium

Last week Sprint offered Unlimited Freedom.  This week Sprint is offering Unlimited Freedom Premium.  Customers will be able to stream videos at up to 1080p+,  stream HD music at up to 1.5Mbps, and stream gaming at up to 8Mbps.  The unlimited Freedom Premium offers unlimited talk and text along with the faster HD streaming.  One line is $80 a month and two lines is $140 a month. Blackberry Offers DTEK50

Blackberry is offering the DTEK50.  The DTEK50 is for those who want security for their smartphone.  The smartphone monitors the OS and then offers suggestions to the user on making their data more secure and private.  This smartphone has a 5.2" scratch resistant display and runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 Octa-Core, 64-bit processor and Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.  The 2610 mAh battery could be larger so users may have to keep an eye on battery life with heavy use.  Multimedia pictures should turn out fairly well with the 13MP rear-facing camera and 8MP front-facing camera.  This smartphone also shoots 1080p HD video at 30fps.  Being this is an Android smartphone users will have access to Apps from the Google Play store.  In North America and Latin America the DTEK50 uses Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE network bands so users should check that this phone will work with their cell phone service provider.  Check out the Blackberry web site for more details and pricing on the Blackberry DTEK50.  To buy Blackberry smartphones please visit my Amazon Affiliate page.

Galaxy Note 7 is Available

T-Mobile signs Telecom deal with Cuba

Quick Look at iPhone SE
